Good for common core problems, not traditional math though.Got this book to teach my kids the common core math problems, not to teach him math. That is important to understand. He is very good at math because he is also home schooled. But he was taught traditional real math. In school they do these common core problems, which is a strange way to do things. Anyway, so, this book is good for learning how to do the class room problems, but if you want to learn actual traditional math, you'll need another book as well or you'll need to make your own traditional math worksheets.

Great Word ProblemsMy daughter loves the math word problems. She is still in kindergarten and some of the math is still a little hard for her. That is why we go over the exercises together and once I explain it to her, she likes solving the problems. I actually like the part that the math problems are challenging and are not too easy. I would recommend this book!

Very good daily practice book.I must admit it is very well written book with a lot of exercises which are very interesting and attractive for kids. My daughter is in kindergarten right now but we are doing math from higher grades. Perfect addition to book - video explanations and they are absolutely free.

Educational and/but (too) ChallengingThis resource is educational, however, I did find some of the sections too difficult for my 6-year-old. I taught first grade for a few years and never covered some of the concepts in this book. I do like the order that it teaches material, however. I’d recommend this book but many problems need explicit instruction.

Complete book for 1st grade math skillsI liked how the book was organized and how the table of contents aligns with what we are teaching in class. I like the number of problems on each page. I like how there is a video explanation of the skill being taught. I like that there is a tip of the day at the bottom of each page.

Poor choice of font for 1st graderThis book is for 1st graders- most of whom are emergent readers. The choice of fonts is pretty confounding— the “l” curves to the side, much like a “j”. Very confusing. Otherwise, I like how the activities are broken down by day.
