Good for everyday practiceI recommend this book (Argo Brothers Common Core Math Workbook Multiple Choice, 5th grade) for regular math practice and to help prepare for the common core tests. It provides 5-6 questions per page, which is a good amount for eveyday practice, and the contents are well-organized and easy to follow. In my opinion, you need to solve many math problems to master math and this workbook allows a lot of practice for problems that my sons are learning in school. I also bought a “Free Response” workbook also from Argo Brothers, so that they can practice different types of math problems.
I recommend this book for practice problems and getting prepared for ...I recommend this book for practice problems and getting prepared for common core math. The layout is very convenient and organized for daily math solving problems. I am finding the book very useful in understanding concepts needed for passing the common core exam. There are problems provided for each day for 5 days a week, and answers are provided at the end of the book. A very useful feature is the "Tip of the day" which provides a sentence or two on vital concepts for solving problems. I highly recommend this book for any 5th grader who needs the extra practice to succeed.
Recieved a book torn upWe will see how the worksheets that arent ripped up work in helping my child; but I definitely do not appreciate receiving a book torn up. Wherever it got torn up at wasnt in the mail. The packaging was intacted and the missing pieces were not in the bag so it was just plainly sent out torn up............so aweaome job with quality 🙄
Good Practice book with variety of questionsGood book with lot of spelling mistakes that create confusion. Couple of examples here - A. Week 1 - Day 1: Question starts with serial number 6, and last question S.No. is 11. However, answer sheet for the same Week 1 and Day 1 start with S.No. 1. (B) Week 2-Day 4: Question 2 starts with 2. 4(10,000) + 1(1,000) + 3(100) + 2(10) + 9(1)+5(1/10)+5(1/100). Which number below is one-hundredth of the expanded form above? This is confusing because question starts with "2.", and this is wrong. Question printing mistake. Good part - variety of questions and good questions. "Tip of the day" on end of the page is favorite part where it explains about how questions can be handled listed on the page. There are videos available as well that can be referenced to get the concept how to solve a question. Pattern and concept is important part in learning. This review is about 2017 Edition Part I: Multiple choice Math 5th Grade Common Core Workbook. Barcode #: 9 780997 994827 - Just thought to put this detail as well as sometimes reviews get mixed up with other.
I like the formatI use this book to tutor students in math. I like the format, where the lessons are divided weekly into five days. There are Assessment problems at the end of each week's lesson and the subsequent lessons include review from previous weeks. I'd recommend pairing this with the Free Response book, but be aware that some questions are recycled. Argo brothers did not even bother changing the numbers/diagrams on some problems.
App doesn’t workThe workbook doesn’t teach the lesson. You have to use a QR code to find the lesson which is fine. However the app doesn’t load and has continual issues. The App Store also shows really poor ratings for the same reason so it’s not just me. It makes the workbook useless because my child has not context or lesson for the questions being asked. Waste of time and money.
