5th Grade Social Studies: Daily Practice Workbook

Good Social Studies WorkbookMy 5th grader's favorite subject is social studies, especially history. He was not happy with how it was being taught in school, and he wanted more. So, he found this workbook series and asked if he could get it for home use. We did. He is often found in his room reading and doing the daily practice exercises. I’m happy that he is taking a proactive role in his education. The Beestar website can also be proactive in furthering your kids learning more about various social studies fields and topics. Recommend the workbook series!

Excellent book for HomeschoolingVery nice textbook for a homeschool student. My 5th grader is loving it, and especially loves the perforated pages so she can get each day’s lesson out of the book. Very thorough curriculum.

PerfectI love this book, it’s enough to do a page a day for my homeschooled kiddo! Would definitely recommend it! Very informative and the layout is great!

Didn’t like the bookThis is the second year I am using this series for social studies. My first concern is that it repeats a lot of the same content as the previous year. Furthermore, when discussing the Columbian Exchange, there is a clear anti-European bias. We need to cover the ugly facts of history, but in a balanced way. Not all Europeans were evil, and not all Native Americans were saints. We are Hispanic, and I am proud of both sides of my ancestry.

Pushing agenda on kidsThis was funny because it was right in this learning book, a direct example of how brainwashing is done. This book is pushing their agendas. For example, there is a question and the false facts are what the child is given to answer the question. But when the child then uses those false facts to come to the conclusion that is still false but correct in their book, the child now believes they came to that conclusion on their own. Totally loaded! So if you want your child to be a mindless idiot, get this book � and this was about midway through the book that I finally saw the issue. Don’t buy this book! Waste!

Need to download their app for content videosI bought this because I saw they had QR CODE LINKS FOR VIDEOS, you click the link and you need to download their app that is in I think in Russian. Not Interested in adding an app. Also, the founding of our country is a republic, not a democracy. Cute graphics, I still need to read through more, since this arrived last night, but those are the first things I wanted to point out. I’ll update as I go through it. We will probably end up returning it.
