The Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT is an exam that students take in order to gain admission into one of the New York Specialized High Schools. Out of the nine Specialized High Schools, eight of the schools admit students solely on the SHSAT score. Fiorello H. SHSAT 2018 CHANGES
The Specialized High Schools Admissions Test (SHSAT was changed back in 2018. Prior to 2018, the SHSAT exam consisted of two sections: verbal and math. The verbal section included five scrambled paragraphs, followed by ten logical reasoning questions followed by 5 reading comprehension passages. The math section included 50 multiple choice questions. The time limit for the exam was 150 minutes. However, the 2020 SHSAT exam you will take has been revised from the old format so let’s go in detail what the 2020 SHSAT exam looks like!

Exactly what we needed!The new SHSAT has added editing and revising to the test for the first time, taking away scrambled paragraphs and logic. The Argo books are a great way to practice these new sections. Having a book that focuses on Editing and Revising is especially helpful because there aren't many published. Any of the old SHSAT handbooks have plenty of reading comprehension sections to practice with and 90 percent of the Math is exactly as it was - -with the exception of 5 questions that are not multiple choice. We have been very happy with this volume. If you are thinking of going to a specialized High School, you must practice for the test to be competitive and this is a great book to use.
